2nd Annual UrbanGoGreen Expo
UrbanGoGreen is hosting its 2nd Annual UrbanGoGreen Expo at the 369th Harlem Armory
"At its core the expo is designed to promote value based consumerism in urban communities. People aren't just simply going to go green; we are going to have to sell them on upgrading their lives to green. Our goal is to serve as a platform for green brands to more effectively market their products in ways that are culturally relevant to the urban consumer market. In addition to promoting value based consumerism, recycling and carbon footprint reduction in urban America, the expo keenly focuses on what attendees really need, jobs and opportunities to save money on the energy bills." says Duval Osiris James. James created UrbanGoGreen after attending the launch of the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development at the United Nations in 2005 where he saw the need for the urban consumer to have a voice in this important conversation. There will be seven areas of the Expo for visitors to explore, listed here:
1. Green Jobs, Careers and Entrenpeneurship
2. Renewable energy and energy efficiancy
3. Green Building and Real Estate
4. Green Products and Services
5. Healthy Familiy
6. Recycling and Bartering
7.Urban Green Culture and Lifestyle
A panel discussion discussing a wide range of topics pertaining to the 'green economy' will take place.
A fashion show and live performance are also scheduled.
The event is free to people under 18 (with ID), and $10 for anyone over 18.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their resumes, as some hosts will be seeking candidates for employment.
