The Future of Mannahatta
After a decade of research, the Mannahatta Project at the Wildlife Conservation Society reconstructed the original ecology of New York City as it existed in 1609, just a few hours before Henry Hudson arrived 400 years ago.
But what’s in store for the next 400 years? Join Dr. Eric Sanderson, Director of the Mannahatta Project and guest curator of the Museum of the City of New York’s 2009 exhibition Mannahatta/Manhattan: A Natural History of New York City, for a discussion of how ecological insight into cities’ pasts can provide a glimpse into how we can shape their futures.
Cost: $6 when you mention Green Edge NYC!
