Part of our Responsible Consumption Month, this day of integral practice in action will focus on our Back to the Sack campaign, aiming to reduce bag waste here in New York. The day will include bag making, street theater, hitting the pavement to talk to people about consumption, and an overview of Integral Activism Theory from New York State Senator Eric Schneiderman. Not to be missed!
P.S. - Have old clothes/fabrics and single use plastic bags that you've been waiting to recycle? Bring them that day to give them a new life as a re-usable bag! All the bags we make during responsible consumption month will be given to IDP members and folks in NYC as an alternative to using throwaway bags when they go shopping.
Important Note about Registration:
Our Day of Practice in Action is a part of NYC's Green Apple Festival. We are asking participants to register through both our website (below this paragraph) and also through NYC's Green Apple Festival Volunteer page. By doing so you will be given all sorts of goodies including access to a free "Thank You Concert" at Bowery Ballroom on Sunday, April 19th. We will be joining other civic and environmentally-minded Americans in a simultaneous nationwide weekend of action that will focus on environmental volunteerism!
