DESCRIPTION:NYCLeaves: Project LeafDrop\n\nLast year, our NYC Council 
 representatives cut the collection and compost of residential leaves o
 ut of the city’s budget.\n\nSo we – community gardeners, neighborh
 ood associations, and concerned residents – are uniting to harvest a
 nd compost fallen leaves, and to document our efforts. We want to keep
  the compostables out of landfills and persuade the City Council and t
 he Mayor to reinstate the Department of Sanitation’s compost project
 .\n\nNYC Leaves: Project LeafDrop will be coordinating leaf compost ev
 ents every Saturday from November 7th-22nd at gardens citywide, where 
 neighbors can bring bags of residential leaves, diverting them from en
 vironmentally costly trips to out-of-state landfills, and using them t
 o enrich our soil, our street trees, and our neighborhoods. Check webs
 ite for times and locations in your area.\n\nNYC Leaves is partnering 
 with GreenThumb, CENYC, the Central Park Conservancy, BK Farmyards, an
 d others to make this project a success.\n\nGarden groups wishing to j
