Thanks,
If you haven't noticed by now, I can be slow to resopnd to postings. Please forgive the delay.
First off, congratulations on the new job! It sounds great. I am sure SelfHelp was sad to see you go. You may not have yet found your dream position, but you are surely invaluable to the people you work with along the way.
As to adopting another Rottie, we just don't have the space. As it stands, our dog splits his time between our apartment and visiting with my parents in MA. I very much hope the Rottie finds a new loving home. I'm not sure of the circumstances regading the need for adoption, but it is certainly challenging finding a new home for any dog, especially Rotties. My prayers are with the dog and his or her current companion.
I have had luck rehoming a Pit I found in a park a few years ago by reaching out to rescue groups with postings on Petfinder. The rescue groups kinly posted a profile of the dog along with a picture. I would suggest that as a course of action. The key is getting a really great picture that makes the dog look loving and friendly and makes everyone's heart melt. Potential adopters need to fall in love with the dog before they even meet.
I remember seeing a picture of your Rotttie. Don't you have a sweet little pitbull too? I seem to recall you having two dogs.
This picture of Chester and I was taken near a ball field in Brooklyn, near the dog park in Carrol Gardens. It is rather fuzzy, but Chester looks so happy in it that I love it.
I hope you are having a good summer so far (despite all this rain!).
Joanna

Hope that helps!
My best to you.

When you have a chance, take some time to explore some of our other groups (like Urban Foraging) and get to know people who share your interests.
Our next foraging event is August 15, it would be great to see you there!
And make sure you sign up for your Neighborhood Supper Club!
Judy Harper
Please connect with Judy Harper if you still have questions about the foraging. I am away from NYC and she can give you better info.
Cheers!
